From his obit on line, he was the Son of Daniel Joseph Nobles Sr and Mary Bass Nobles. His wife, Adelaide Heath Nobles, preceded in death. He was retired from Nobles Insurance and H. & R Block. He was a member of Tifton First Baptist Church.

Excerpts from "Tifton's Valentine to Veterans", sponsored by the Stafford Foundation, compiled by Marianna G. Keesee with thanks to others, 2005, Lang Printing, Tifton, Ga. used by permission.
"D. J. Nobles was in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in Radar school when he heard that peace was declared in World War II. He immediately thanked the Lord! He spent a good bit of the war in Washington and did not get overseas. He volunteered for the Air Force, but had a depth perception problem. He was told having his tonsils out might help, so he paid $85 dollars for that operation...with no help. Then, when he got back to Tifton a doctor gave him some eye exercises and charged him only $5 to give him help!"
