DEATH OF CHRISTINA LARSON

Young Woman Dies from Effects of Concentrated Lye

Christina Larson, the young woman who drank concentrated lye on May 21, died shortly after six o'clock this morning at the home in this city of Mrs. Carrie Nelson where she had been recently. Her death was the result of one of the sores in her esophagus not healing but becoming an ulcer which made a hole through her windpipe. From this condition other trouble followed and for the past week she had grown steadily worse, until the end came as stated.

The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Larson north and west of Nevada, and she had lived all her life in this county. She was born here July 8, 1888, and died here June 29, 1909, aged 20 years, 11 months and 21 days. She was worthy and diligent young woman, and the worriment that caused her to drink concentrated lye was quite unnecessary. She repented soon of her rashness, and she contributed all she could toward her own recovery. But she was too badly hurt, and recovery proved impossible. She leaves her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Her funeral will be conducted from the Christian church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock.
