Funeral service for Mrs. Ruth R. Stroud, 89, of Alexander City, will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Sister Betty Bishop will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stroud passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on February 1, 1924 in Elmore County, Alabama to James Richardson and Minnie Ogle Richardson. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing, and making dolls. Mrs. Stroud will always be remembered as a loving mother and wife.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Stroud of Alexander City; daughter, Ruth Neighbors (John) of Alexander City; and sons, Reginald Adamson of Jacksonville, FL, Bobby Adamson of Lawton, OK, and Billy Adamson (Katherine) of Lawton, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and four brothers.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice Attn: Alanna, 220 E 3rd Street, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
