Pall bearers will be: John D. Middleton, H.G. Decker, R.E. Garnett, Ive Holderness, Hal C. Horton, Paul Manning, H. Eugene Norton, Lee M. Pol, Joe D. Williams and Dr. W.L. Yarbrough.

Blanche C. Blackburn Denney was born on October 27, 1891 at Ennis in Ellis County, Texas and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Blackburn. At Ennis she was reared to lovely young womanhood [See MRS. DENNEY on Page 3.] and there was married to D.B. Denney on October 2, 1910.

Shortly after Mr. and Mrs. Denney were married they moved to Tyler where they resided for a few years. In 1915 they came to Greenville and had since made their home in this city.

Mrs. Denney became popular among the citizens of this city immediately after she moved here. She was possessed of a magnetic personality that drew friends and endeared her to the hearts of those who knew her. Friends she counted by the hundreds and she found great enjoyment in her association and contact with these friends. The many fine traits that she exemplified throughout life caused her to be held in the deepest of admiration and respect and there will be many to join the family in lamenting her passing.

Joined Church Early.

At an early age Mrs. Denney professed religious faith at Ennis and united with the Presbyterian Church in that city. She was reared to be a fine Christian woman and throughout her life had endeavored to exemplify the teachings of the Master. When she moved to Greenville she placed her membership in the Grace Presbyterian Church and was a faithful and untiring worker until ill health caused her to discontinue this activity.

Mrs. Denney was deeply interested in the affairs of her church and for a number of years was teacher of a Sunday School class and an outstanding worker in the Woman’s Auxiliary of the church. She was also a member of the Scofield Bible Club, one of the city’s leading religious organizations and was active in numerous other women’s work of both her church and the city.

With admirable courage and fortitude Mrs. Denney bore the sufferings that accompanied her long illness. She maintained a cheerful attitude and made every effort to relieve her family of worry over her condition. She was at all times solicitous concerning the welfare of her family and bestowed upon them the love and devotion that is characteristic of a noble wife and mother. Her family in turn lavished their affections upon her and they are heart broken over her demise.

Mrs. Denney is survived by her husband, D.B. Denney, two sons, Burl Denney Jr. and John Denney, all of Greenville, her father R.F. Blackburn of this city; two sisters, Mrs. T.H. Barnes of Houston; Mrs. T.C. Gay of San Antonio and two brothers, C.F. Blackburn of Dallas and L.M. Blackburn of San Antonio.
