William Houston Blankenship, 88, of San Rafael, died of heart failure last evening at a local hospital. He resided at 35 Bayview Street with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Blankenship.
A native of Madisonville, TN, Blankenship was reared on a farm in Arkansas. After his retirement from farming, he came to California. He had been a resident for 23 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church here.
Blankenship is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edna Simpson of Tulsa, OK; 2 sons, James of San Rafael and Ralph G. of Tucson, Az; grandchildren Barbara Jean Koholula, Patricia Pollman, Mary Lou Delk, J.C. and Larry Blankenship and William L. Simpson, and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary in San Rafael.
