He was an oil field election/ worker. On the night of 6 Jun 1939 an electrical storm hit the oil field causing a fuse on one of the oil pumps to go out. It was Guy's job to see that all the pumps were working, so he had to change the fuse in
the oil pump. Just as he reached and touched the fuse a lighting bolt hit the pump causing an electrical surge to flow from the pump through the fuse box to Guy's hand, killing him instantly. He had been electrocuted by the lighting bolt. His funeral was held in the Saint Louis High School Gymnasium. Burial was at Fairlawn Cemetery, 1123 E 6th Street, Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA,
