Jonelle Elaine Melton, 33, of Neptune, NJ departed this life on September 14, 2009. Born in Trenton, NJ, she attended Our Lady of Divine Shepherd School and McCorristin Catholic High School. She graduated from Morgan State University and received a Master's in Supervisory Education from Monmouth University.

Jonelle taught at the Village Charter School in Trenton, NJ for three years, the Granville Charter School for one year, and as a long term substitute for the Trenton Board of Education. As a Social Studies teacher at the Red Bank Middle School for the past seven years, Jonelle was looking forward to teaching fifth grade this year. She was a very active member of the school community, and Jonelle was well loved by staff, students and parents.

Predeceased by her father, George Saddler, Jr., her maternal grandmother, Frances Dorsey Cruse, her paternal grandparents, Ruby and George Saddler, Sr.

Surviving are her husband, Michael Melton; her mother and best friend, Gwendolyn Cruse (Hamilton, NJ); her mother-in-law, Lorene Melton (Trenton, NJ); two sisters, Rachel (Mark Hanslon), and Connie Saddler and her niece Constance; her sister-in-law, Tameki (Eric Jones) and nephew Ethan; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; the staff of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture's Child Nutrition Programs; and special friends, Tamera, Charmia, Kim, and Nycole.

Funeral Services will be Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11am at Lighthouse Outreach Ministries, 715 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 from 5pm to 7pm at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., Trenton, NJ and Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 from 9am to 11am at the church.
