Major Andre was a navigator on an A-26A Douglas Invader piloted by Major James Elmo Sizemore. The team were members of the "Nimrods" 609th Special Operations Squadron based at Nakhon Phanom in north-eastern Thailand near the Laotian border. The men had been classmates at Georgia Tech. Originally listed as missing-in-action, then later killed-in-action, their remains were not recovered until 2012. They were positively identified in 2013. Majors Andre and Sizemore remain side by side as they did for so many years as they are laid to rest in the hallowed ground of Arlington. In a final salute to these American heroes, members of the Warrior Flight Team, a group of civilians pilots, performed a flyover with eight aircraft including an A-26 Invader escorted by two P-51 Mustangs. Other aircraft present were B-25 "Ponchito" and four L-39s.
