CUTLER - K. Glen Lindner, 73, passed away at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Glen was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Percy, the son of George Kenneth and Marion Deppe Lindner.

He married Shirley J. Carter on Sept. 12, 1959, in Denmark.

Glen was a retired Operator from Consol 4.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Glen was a member of Denmark Baptist Church in Cutler; Alma Lodge 497 A.F. and A.M. in Steeleville; Ainad Shrine of East St. Louis; Scottish Rites Body of Southern Illinois, Belleville; and UMWA Local 1825. He was a gift of life donor.

Glen is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Lindner of Cutler; children, Jim (Sherry) Lindner of Steeleville, Tim (Cathy) Lindner of Campbell Hill and Tracy Lindner of Cutler; eight grandchildren, Michael (Casey) Lindner, Chad Lindner, Jessica (Wayne) Goetz, Andrew Koester, Kaleb Koester, Morgan Lindner, Kyle Lindner and Devin Lindner; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Logan Goetz and a third great-grandchild in January; one brother, Lee (Lina Rae) Lindner of Pinckneyville; and three sisters, Janet Miller of Pinckneyville, Karen (John) Peradotto of Pinckneyville and Linda Hepp of Steeleville.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Jill Lindner.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with the Rev. Rob Mathis officiating. Burial will be in Cutler Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. under the auspices of Alma Lodge 497. Visitation will also be from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
