Mrs. Ernest (Lou) Goetsch, 74, Valley City, formerly of Tolley and Lisbon, died Sunday in Valley City. Funeral Wednesday at 2, Armstrong Lozier Funeral Home, Lisbon. Burial Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Lou Mulinex was born Oct. 22, 1903, at Lisbon. She moved with her family to Tolley, and was graduated from Tolley High School in 1922. She attended Valley City State
College and married Arch (Red) Guthrie in 1924. The marriage ended in divorce, and on April 26, 1942, she married Ernest Goetsch at Tolley.

She was employed for 10 years at the Tolley Post Office. In 1952 she and her husband moved to Lisbon, and in 1958, to Valley City where she returned to college. She then taught at Verona, Spiritwood, Woodworth, Kensal, Bordulac and Ayr until retiring in 1968. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America and the Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors: husband; son, Wayne Guthrie, Lisbon; four stepchildren, Harvey Goetsch, McGregor, Minn., Irvin Goetsch, Leadville, Colo., Mrs. R.L. (Lillian) Green, Boyden, Iowa, and Harold Goetsch, Arlington, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
