Delores Nadine Underwood was born June 30, 1927 and left this world on September 16, 2013, 9 days after the going home of her husband, James William Underwood. We know she is now rejoicing around the throne of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with the earthly love of her life.
She is survived by her children. One son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Jane Underwood, daughters: Kaye Stinson, Dana Worley, and Lavada Underwood, all of Lancaster, TX, and daughter and son-in-law Barna and Dennis Davis, of Ferris, TX. 1 sister, Rev. Wanda Jean Jones of Seagoville, TX, 15 Grand Children, 23 Great Grand Children, 3 Great-Great Grand Children.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, James William Underwood, her parents William Albert Collins and Florence Marie Hill, 2 brothers, Hershel Howard Collins and Arthur Albert Collins, and her daughter, Nadine Underwood. Son in Laws Jimmy Calder & James Stinson.
She was known as "A Prayer Warrior." At 11 years of age, she gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and followed him in baptism. She was filled with the Holy Ghost in her early 20's and from that time she spent her life as a prayer warrior for everyone with whom she came in contact. At anytime day or night, when the phone rang or someone came by her house with a need for prayer, she would immediately stop everything and she would pray until she reached the throne of God. If you came empty and needy spiritually, you never left that way…As you and she prayed your cup would fill to overflowing spiritually from the time of prayer, love, and words of wisdom she shared as well as the little love gifts she would always give.
