One of her brothers was Robert Ornsby Maddox CSA, #60301156 (children of David G. Maddox) served with Lee's engineers throughout entire war, never fired a shot. Best friend in War was Robert Sindle from Gallatin, TN, so moved there after war. Their "Mother Maddox" nee Elizabeth Gosney died in Utah with her younger daughter Mary Bowers. A piece of Mother Maddox' beautiful embroidery framed in a shadow box she created and painted is a family treasure inherited by Jim Gorin from Maria Maddox Mayes and currently in possession of AGP.
