Patrick married Johanna Ann McGrath on December 16, 1885. The marriage was solemnized by Father Hugh McGuire (1846-1911) of St James Church, corner of Wabash & 29th (North Side)Chicago.
The Murphy's raised two children, Robert Emmett Murphy 1887-1970 and Catherine V. Murphy King 1886-1955.
Patrick was a "Master Plumber" by trade and passed that talent on to his son Robert. Robert was Founder and President of R.E. Murphy Plumbing and Heating in Chicago until passing the business along to his son Robert E. Murphy Jr.
Patrick's Father's name was Morris D.Murphy and I have been unable to find any information about him to date. I did find where PM, Morris and Jeremiah lived together in Washington, DC in the 1880 Census. Curious whether that Jeremiah is the Recipient of the Medal of Honor during the Indian Wars.
Although his name was never carved on the tombstone, Patrick is indeed buried with his adored wife Johanna.
