He married Isabell Claypoole (daughter of David C Claypoole & Mary Elizabeth) in 1828 in Armstrong County, PA. They had 11 children. He died on May 8, 1878, in North Buffalo, Armstrong County, PA, at the age of 71. He was buried at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
