Bob was a man of devoted service, high integrity, and unfailing duty. He passed away on his 61st Wedding Anniversary. Bob was the son of Harmon and Hillegonda Meinders De Boer, the youngest of eight children. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Bob graduated from BYU and served a mission in Holland for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married the love of his life, Flora Marie Michaelson, in 1951 in the Logan Temple. He took tender care of her for many years until she died in 2003. Together they had four children.

Bob worked at Weber State University for 37 years as purchasing agent, Deputy Controller, Acting VP for Public Relations, Assistant to the President, and did all legislative lobbying for WSU for 18 years. He received the H. Aldus Dixon award and an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities from WSU. He was active in politics, and served on the Ogden City Council, was Assistant Mayor of Ogden, served on the Ogden Housing Authority, National Housing Authority, and held a number of other prestigious and important positions.

At the time of his passing, survived by his children, 13 grandchildren, and 31 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Flora, brothers Hank and Art, sisters Jen and Helen, granddaughter Alisha, and great grandson Justin.
