Nelson, Barbara Louise Krohmer Roberts -

Funeral services for Barbara Nelson, age 73, of Sharpsburg were held Friday,

Sept. 8, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sharpsburg

with Pastor Al Rusk officiating. Interment was held in the West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Memorials can be given in her name. Services were conducted by the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.

Barbara Louise Nelson was born Sept. 14, 1926 in Clearfield, the daughter of John Krohmer and Mae Bolte. Barbara grew up in the Lenox/Clearfield area graduating from the Lenox Community High School. On Dec. 23, 1944 she was united in marriage to Paul Roberts in Lenox. She had worked for over twenty-six years for the Coming Hospital, retiring in 1987 after her marriage to George Nelson on March 8, 1987, in Sharpsburg.

She was very active in her church and community and enjoyed entertaining

her friends and family. Barbara was an excellent cook.

Barbara and George could always be counted on to prepare the coffee twice a day at Spring's General Store in Sharpsburg where they were always ready with a story to share with their many friends who stopped in.

They enjoyed attending country music shows and attending the Bolte Family Runions.

She was a member of the Sharpsburg United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Barbara is survived by her husband, George of Sharpsburg; four children,

Loretta Sewell and husband Sonny of Norman, Oklahoma; Becky White of Fallon,

Nevada; Rick Nelson and wife Lin of Lenox; and Kris Palmer and husband Dean

of Rice, Virginia; and a brother, Don Krohmer and wife Pat of Des Moines;

twenty-one grandchildren, Michael Sewell, Lisa Helsloote, Jason Sewell and

wife Sara, Amy, Jon, Zac, and Rebecca Sewell, Kimberly White, Jill Glynn and

husband Thane, Ben Nelson and wife Jennifer, Jason, Matt and Stephanie

Harbour; thirteen great-grandchildren, Holden, Joie and Evan Helsloote,

Dylan and Justin Bonnell, Kaden Sewell, Bailly, Payton and Jacey Glynmn, Tate,

Tryce, Morgen and Masen Nelson.

Preceding Barbara in death are her parents, John and Mae Krohmer.
