L.C. Ayers, 86, of Greeneville, passed away Monday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

He retired from Plus Mark in 1992.

L.C. was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of V.F.W. Post No. 1990.

He was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association, an avid horse lover, and bluegrass music fan.

L.C. loved playing the guitar and sharing his talent with others.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years: Dorothy Broyles Ayers; two daughters and sons-in-law: Debra D. and Edward L. Ricker and Rhonda J. and Jeffrey J. Neas; three grandchildren: Seth Neas, Bryan E. Ricker, and Clarissa L. Ricker Malone and husband, Jimmy; a great-grandchild: Colton Jacob Malone; a sister: Elda Ricker; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Blake Ayers and Avery and Norma Jean Ayers; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Nelson and Laura Hensley Ayers and was preceded in death by a daughter: Patricia "Patty" Ayers; five brothers: Bryson, Therain, Arthur, Marvin, and Everette Ayers; and two sisters: Pansy Norton and Rose Molina.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. John Daugherty will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at noon Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for a 1 p.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Rudy Brown, Billy Joe Neas, Bryan Ricker, Seth Neas, Jimmy Malone, Kevin Ayers, Jackie Cobble, Charles Ricker, and Bobby Brumley.

The family would like to thank all of L.C.'s caregivers during his illness for their love and special care.
