Born in Carrsville, Va. daughter of James Franklin Bracey and Cora Lou Carr Bracey. She was widow of Norman Edward Harris, Jr. and was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Lee Bracey and a brother, James Franklin Bracey, Jr. Mrs. Harris and her husband opened the Emporia Seafood Market in Emporia in 1949 which operated for 27 years . Mrs. Harris was registrar for the City of Emporia for 27 years untl her retirement in 2004. She was dedicated member of the Riparian Womens Club for 50 years and was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church, Emporia for 56 years.
She is survived by her three daughters, Loretta H. Mitchell, Barbara Harris Slate, Catherine Harris Jones and a son, Norman Edward Harris, III. She had 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was a lovely person that always had a warm and friendly Smile.
