Mrs. Susan A. Stewart, who had been a resident of Mono county for fifteen years, died in Bridgeport Thursday morning. Mrs. Stewart was born in 1800, and was consequently in her eighty-second year. Among her children were those well known residents of this section, M. Y. Stewart of Bodie, Charles M. Stewart of Mormon ranch, John W. Stewart, James E. Stewart and Mrs. S. A. Kirkwood of Bridgeport. Several flags in Bodie were hung at half mast Thursday out of respect for the deceased. (Bodie Weekly Standard, 6/21/1882, Wednesday, p. 1)
