Wenatchee (WA) World, Wed. Jan. 14, 1987, p. 11. BRIDGEPORT - Arthur William Lenhart, 88, Bridgeport, a retired bricklayer, died Mon. Jan. 12, 1987, at Okanogan-Douglas County Hospital in Brewster. He was born Feb. 26, 1896, at El Dorado Springs MO and came with his parents to the Vantage area as a small boy. The family then moved to East Wenatchee. He learned the bricklaying trade from his father and followed the trade until retirement. Mr. Lenhart married Selma Nyrew in 1921 at Wenatchee. He and his brother, Floyd, and son formed a partnership and contracted the brickwork on many schools, post offices and hospitals throughout eastern Washington. His specialty was fireplaces. He was the first mayor of East Wenatchee. He married Esther Fergusen in 1957 and they lived at Carlton for 20 years before retiring at Bridgeport. Mr. Lenhart loved gardening, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Esther, at home; a son, Bill, Anchorage AK; four daughters, Bonnie Rowe, Omak, Bernice Edmondson, Kingston, Luana Palmer, Mt. Vernon, Jolene Turner, Texas; a stepson, Ted Craig, Grand Coulee; a stepdaughter, Merle Marsh, Vancouver; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Barnes Chapel, Brewster, is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Notice: ARTHUR WILLIAM LENHART - Services will be held Fri. Jan 16 at 11 a.m. from Barnes Chapel, Brewster, with the Rev. George Crook officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery. Arrangements by Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
