Mr. Alford, 60, died at the L & A Railroad roundhouse. He was a mechanical foreman for the railroad and a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie B. Alford; one son, William C. Alford, Jr. of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Poole of Houston, TX; one brother, Hansel Alford of Stevens, AR; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Collins and Mrs. Hattie McDowell, both of Hope, AR, and Mrs. Cleo Hungerford of Richmond, VA; and 6 grandchildren.
