SSGT Huey Baxley


Graveside services for SSGT Huey Baxley will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 with the Reverend Lloyd Whitman officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Colfax, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville. Military Honors will be provided by The Fort Polk Honor Guard.


The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until shortly before time of service.


Mr. Baxley, 77, of Dry Prong passed from this life Monday, September 02, 2013 at Colfax Reunion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.


He was a United States Air Force and United States Army veteran retiring after many years of distinguished service to this country with the rank of Staff Sgt. After proudly serving in the military, trained and worked as a mechanic.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Baxley; parents, Walter and Eva Slayter Baxley; brothers, Melvin Anderson Baxley, Horce Ray Baxley and Leonard LeRoy Baxley; sister, Stella Mae Baxley.
