KATIE CARUTHERS The funeral for Katie Caruthers, 95, of Arnett will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Arnett. The Rev. Rick Floyd will officiate. Burial will be in DeBolt Cemetery, Arnett. Arrangements are by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Ser-vice, Shattuck.

She was born Aug. 3, 1910, at Covington, Texas, to Samuel T. and Alma N. Nicholas Hargis and died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Shattuck Nursing Center.

She attended school in Covington.

She married J. B. Caruthers in Ft. Worth, Texas, June 15, 1928.

She lived in Whitney, Texas, Amarillo, Texas, Portales, N.M., Woodward and Denver. Besides being a homemaker, she worked at Pollyanna Cafe, Woodward, and Plains Creamery, Arnett.

She was a past member of First Baptist Church, Covington and Arnett. She served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and worked with youth.

Surviving are four daughters, Billye J. Gray of Arnett, Kathryn M. Rucker of Barstow, Calif., Peggy A. Schoenhals and Luana M. Francis, both of Arnett; two sons, James B. Caruthers of Jonesboro, Tenn., and Donnie Lee Caruthers of Houston; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Arnett.
