Mabel E. Deel, 76, of Rockfield, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 1979, at a neighbor’s home. Born Feb. 6, 1903, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Harry and Lillie Moore Ray. She was married on June 15, 1921, to L.J. Deel who died in 1970.

After 25 years of service, she retired from the post office in 1969. She was a member of the Rockfield Presbyterian Church, the Rock Creek Extension Homemakers Club, the Friendship Circle and the United Presbyterian Women.

Surviving are one son, Robert G. Deel of Rockfield; one daughter, Marjorie M. Been of Rockfield; one sister, Lena Wahid of North Hollywood, Calif., seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Two sisters preceded her in death (Louise and Madeline). Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rockfield Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Stanley Hopper officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Sullivan Funeral Home, Camden, was in charge of arrangements.

The family requests memorials be donated to the Heart Fund or the Rockfield Presbyterian Church.
