The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Home, 62 Main St., Seven Valleys. Burial will be in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery, York New Salem. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Waltemyer was born March 25, 1917, in Springfield Township. He was the son of the late Samuel C. and Catherine Ann (Snyder) Waltemyer.
He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Glen Rock. He had retired from Cablec Continental Cable Co., York, 14 years ago.
A life member of Seven Valleys Fire Company, he was a fire policeman for many years, and was a member of Allen J. Beck Jr. Post 5265 of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Spring Grove.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on several vessels in the Mediterranean and Atlantic.
Mr. Waltemyer also is survived by a son, Abraham E. Waltemyer of York RD 10; four granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; a brother, Paul W. Waltemyer of Country Meadows-Leader Heights; and a sister, Olive M. Bupp of Glen Rock.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Jacqueline F. Starz.
