LOUISE BROOKS, resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born March 29, 1948 in Berryville, Arkansas, a daughter of Neff and Bernice Bertha (Fry) Cannafax. Louise went to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday, September 08, 2013 with family by her side in Plano, Texas, at the age of 65 years due to a stroke from complications of cancer.
Louise attended Freeman Heights Church in Berryville. She worked as a first grade teacher and school librarian for thirty years. She graduated from Berryville High School in 1966, Bethany Nazarene College in 1971 and she graduated with a Master's degree from the University of Arkansas in 1983. Louise loved her family very much. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her four precious granddaughters.
On May 23, 1972, Louise was united in marriage with Larry Brooks who survives her of the home. She is also survived by two daughters, Michelle and husband Wayne Leising of Columbus, GA and Robyn and husband Josh Capps of Berryville, AR; one brother, Leonard Cannafax and wife Everta of Springdale, AR; one sister, Lorene Cannafax of Plano, TX; four granddaughters, Annabelle Brooke Capps, Hannah Grace Leising, Ella Rose Leising and MaryRose Elizabeth Capps; three nieces and one nephew; and a multitude of friends and loved ones.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Neff and Bernice Cannafax.
Visitation was from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service was at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2013 at Freeman Heights Church with Brother Alan Brown officiating. Interment followed the service in the Hale Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. The family requested that anyone who would, please donate blood in memory of Louise Brooks, due to the numerous blood transfusions she received late in her illness.
