Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Boyd, widow of William Boyd, of Neshannock
Falls, one of the oldest residents of that district and the last
of her family, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 1932, at her
home after a long illness. She was widely known and held in the
highest esteem by the entire community in which she had spent
her entire life.
Mrs Boyd was born in Hickory township, Lawrence county, January
7, 1841, the daughter of John Brown and Amanda McCreary Irwin,
and was 91 years of age. She was a member of the United
Presbyterian church of New Wilmington.
She leaves the following children: Miss Minnie Boyd at home,
Mrs. Sarah Dicks of Ellwood City and Boyne Boyd of Pulaski.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 1932, at 2
p.m. in Neshannock Falls. Interment will be made in Fair Oaks
cemetery.
