Clifford W. John, 87,3405 16th Ave.,
Sterling, died Thursday afternoon at
the Edgewild Health Center, Sterling,
after a lengthy illness.
Funeral serices will be held at 2 p.m.
on Saturday at the Melvin-Schilling
Funeral Home with the Rev.John Vickery and
the Rev. James Oliver co-officiating.
There will be not visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Whiteside
Visually impared.
Clifford John was born on July 5,1897 in
Jordan Township, the son of Harry R. and
Lizzie Hess John. He was united in marriage
to Helen E. Moore and was a World War I Army
Veteran. He was the founder of the Cliff John
Insurace Agency in Sterling which in 1960
merged with the Peterson Agency to become the
Cliff John Peterson Agency. He was a charter
member of the Sterling Elks, and the Sterling
American Legion and the Sterling VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Helen John and one
sister, Mrs. Alice Oliver, Rice Lake, Wis.
Preceding him in death was one brother,
