Mother of:

1. Lena Knorr born June 28, 1875, died December 3, 1942, Detroit, Wayne, MI (see death record).

3. Ida Nacker 1880-1977

4. William L. Maas 1882-1972

5. Herman L. Maas 1884-1937

6. Albert Fredrick Maas 1886-1969

7. Paul F. Maas 1889-1980

8. Frederick H. Maas 1891-1968

9. Minnie Ida Maas 1893-1991

Daughter of Johann Westphal/John Westfall and Anna Schroeder.

"Louisa's family left Germany when she was 16 - in an old sailing ship. They had lived in a co-op type farm in Germany, in a dorm-type building and could never own property. Her family settled in Farmington Township, Michigan and farmed. William and Louisa had 12 children, 3 died as infants. All were born in Farmington. Daughter Lena was considered the 'black sheep' of the family. She ran a boarding house in Detroit, Michigan which was unheard of in those days for an unmarried woman to do. So she must have been 'bad'." Comment on family tree on ancestry.com; Marcella Schlucter Maas
