Pirkle W. "Andy" Anderson, 81, died Sunday morning (September 15, 2013) at Hospice House Satilla following a brief illness.

He was a native of Bacon County, GA but had lived most of his life in Ware County. He was the son of the late Wailey S. Anderson and Irene Medders Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Wailey Anderson and a brother, Wallace Anderson.

He was a former Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol and later retired as a salesperson with Brooks Auto Parts in Douglas. He was a member of Hebardville Baptist Church and was a Korean War Veteran serving three years with the United States Navy and the four years in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include two daughters, Gay Davenport (husband Joe) and Debbie Varnadore (husband Clyde) both of Hazlehurst; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mary D. Bruner (husband Gerald) of Blakely, and Jan Beach (husband John, Jr.) of Waycross; a brother, Wayne Anderson (wife Mary Ann) of Waycross, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Hospice House Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with a private family service.
