NAMPA — Services for Ray F. Storey, 84, of 119 Yale Avenue, a pioneer Nampa businessman, who died Friday in a Nampa hospital after an extended illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Alsip Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Ernest E. Wilson, pastor at the Nampa First United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Born Aug. 4, 1889, at Hastings Neb., he lived his early boyhood in California. He then moved to Bloomington, Ill., where he finished his schooling. Montrose, Mo., was his next home. He married Addie Mercer on Jan. 17, 1911, at Baker, Ore. In Missouri he formed and later became manager of a large produce company for 10 years. In 1927, he and his family moved to Nampa where he founded the Storey Hatchery and Seed Co. and later founded the Storey Hatchery and Seed Co. of Meridian.

He served three terms in the Idaho Legislature, two terms as a representative and one term as a senator. He was an active member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church; a longtime member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board; a member of the Nampa Country-Man's Club and was an active supporter of 4-H clubs. He served as president and lieutenant governor of Kiwania, was a member of the Nampa Kiwanis Club and had 29 years of perfect attendance. He was named a Man of the Year by the Treasure Valley Chambers of Commerce in 1972. He was past master of the Masonic Lodge in Montrose, Mo., was a member of Ashlar Lodge No. 90, AF & AM and was a 50 year member of the Masons. He was a member of the Nampa Chamber of Commerce and had served as president of the Idaho Poultry Association.

Mr. Storey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie I. Storey of Nampa; two sons, Don M. Storey, Meridian, and Rex F. Storey, Nampa; one daughter, Mrs. Paul A. (Aline) Jones, Nampa; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
