Taylor was married to Carrie C. Miller on Dec 10, 1893. Their children were Josephine E., Willie Ada, Ora Lee, Ernest Charles, George Miller, Charles Aubrie and Carrie Christine Haynes. When his wife, Carrie Miller Haynes, died of childbed fever after giving birth to their last child, the children were placed in homes of various relatives, and Taylor looked for work. He was working around Little Rock about 1912-1914 when he became ill and died of smallpox, according to family history. He was buried there and his body was never returned home to be buried in Opposition Cemetery with his family members (click on picture and read its caption).

The orphaned children were taken in by various family members to raise. A son, Charles Aubrie Miller (Charlie) was adopted by his step-uncle and aunt, Walter Austin "Doc" and Sarah Elizabeth Pickett Miller and was given the surname Miller. Charlie is buried in New Rosemont Cemetery, Benton, Saline, Arkansas, with his wife Bertha. His adoptive parents are in the same cemetery.

Josephine E. (possibly for Elizabeth) married Nathan Hathcoat and possibly died within a year or two of the marriage. An alternate theory is she lived and remarried, but not proven. Date of death or burial place unknown.
