Nancy Lee (Crose) Wilber, 61, of Emmett Township, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan. Nancy was born on June 4, 1952, in Detroit, MI, to Richard R. and Barbara J. (Bennett) Crose. She grew up in Banfield, Little Mill Lake area of Barry County. Nancy graduated from Hastings High School in 1970. She married James Capman in December 1970. They divorced in 1977. Nancy then married Danny Wilber in November 1977. He survives her.

Nancy worked for Dobbies Sandwich Shop in the late 1970's. She went to work for Harper Creek Schools in the high school kitchen in August 1985. She became Assistant Head Cook in January 2000. Nancy transferred to the Sonoma School kitchen in May of 2002. She retired from Harper Creek Schools on July 1, 2007 after 22 years of service. Nancy loved her work and also worked as an election official for many school elections.

Nancy's interests were wide and varied. She enjoyed helping her husband with genealogy and family history. She loved doing crafts and selling them. She also enjoyed Jigsaw puzzles, fill-in puzzle books, working in the yard and being with family and friends.

Nancy was a generous soul, who loved her family and friends and was always willing to help those who needed her. She was a good woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Crose, in 1986 and by her mother, Barbara (Bennett) Crose, in 1999.

Surviving Nancy are her husband, Danny Wilber of Emmett Township, daughters, Dianne (William) D'Water , Bobbi Jo (Steve) Hibbard, Becky (James) D'Water all of Battle Creek, her aunt Phyllis Spenelli of Springfield and uncle James Bennett of Michigan. She also leaves her brothers Steve Crose of Battle Creek, Robert (Kim) Crose of Delton, Darrell Crose of Reading, PA; seven grandchildren Kristin Wilber, Michelle D'Water, Chelsie D'Water, Jessica Franklin, Steven Franklin, Harley D'Water and Maverick D'Water and great granddaughter Azzarayah Gaines.; nieces Stephanie Ann Shaw, Amanda Crose and Amanda Parsons; nephews Andrew Scott Crose, Darell Crose Jr., Richard Crose and Robert Paul Crose Jr.; grand nephew Tarrell Grant and grand niece Alaina Maronek as well as many cherished family and dear friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Wednesday at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Royal Funeral Home. Burial will be at West Pennfield (Hicks) Cemetery. Nancy's family suggests that those who wish to honor Nancy's memory consider a contribution to the American Diabetes Association or to the family. Please in Nancy's memory do a kind deed for someone.
