From The Fullerton Post, Thursday, September 23, 1920, page 8, transcribed by Linda Berney:

C. W. Shull passed away at his home in this city on Sunday afternoon. He had been a patient sufferer for many years from paralysis. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved wife and daughters.

Clay Wesley Shull was born May 1st, 1886, and died September 19, 1920. He was married to Miss Lydia Medberry February 12, 1908. Three children were born to this union, one dying in infancy.

Four years after his marriage he lived west of Fullerton, up the Loup valley, then seeking health, he went to Colorado for four years, returning to Fullerton where for another four years he has been bedfast with paralysis, which at last caused his death.

In his affliction he never complained, always looking on the bright side, with a smile of cheer and a word of comfort to his brave little wife who has had the sole care of him all these years.

Three years ago he united with the Presbyterian church of this city. The funeral services were held at the church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by his pastor, Rev. D. S. Honsaker. The burial was made at Glenwood cemetery.

Mr. Shull's father and mother and brothers William and Charles could not be reached by telegrams, altho every effort was made to locate them before the funeral. His brother Roy and wife of Chambers, Nebr., were present at the funeral.
