Mr. Bass, son of John and Alice Sims Bass, was born Aug. 24, 1918, in Beloit, WI. He was an industrial engineer with Colt Industries of Kansas City, KS, for 46 years. Mr. Bass was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II. He was a member of the Beloit Baptist Church, Beloit, WI.
He married Ellen K. Teehee on July 17, 1965, in Kansas City, KS.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Barbara Jean (Raymond) Schroeder of San Diego, CA, and Judith Ann Brawner of Freeport, IL; a stepson, Alfred Curtis (Barbara Ann) Bailey of Baton Rouge, LA; one stepdaughter, Caroline Ruth Riggle, of Paola, KS; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and two sisters, Lillian Hawley and Audrey Thoreson, both of Beloit, WI.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Douglas S. Bass, in Dec. 1988.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1994, at the Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville, with Ken West, minister, officiating. Burial at Dent Cemetery, Washburn, MO. Pallbearers will be Gary Vanzandt, Kurt Vanzandt, Alfred Bailey, Robert Riggle, Todd Bailey and Dennis Riggle, Jr. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tueday, Aug. 2, at the Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville, MO where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville, MO.
