This is in very loving memory of Marjorie Kathleen Fikstad, the most darling soul this world has ever known. Born January 17, 1923, she lived a long and wonderful life, filled with love and family, to the moment she passed away on April 21, 2012.
Margie Kathleen Webb was very active, playing tennis in high school at South High in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was also a member of the Jitterbug Club, and where she met her husband, Lorin Fikstad. She graduated in 1940, and went on to business college to become a secretary. She then concentrated on raising her family for a time. Later she went to work for the Salt Lake City School District in the Purchasing Dept., where she retired over 20 years later.
Margie was, first and foremost a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a responsibility she took very seriously and placed above all else in her life's priorities. She remained very active and even many years later walked regularly to keep healthy. Along the way she wrote many personal journals and a book of her life.
The love of her family has always been her meaning in life, and we will be reminded of her through the sweetest and simplest of things: Snoopy, Jell-o salad, and A&W root beer, and in the immortal words, "Oh my gosh!" We remember how she changed them all into monuments of love, monuments of her. We have been truly blessed to have had such a great woman there for us when we needed her. Even in her passing she lives on in all our hearts, and we will miss her deeply.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012, at 10:00AM at Sandy Ridge Church, located at 1829 East and 10600 South in Sandy, Utah.
