GORDONSVILLE — Graveside services for Mattie L. Pedigo, 77, of Buffalo Valley, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Jones Cemetery in Buffalo Valley. A celebration of life service will follow at the Buffalo Valley Community Center.
Ms. Pedigo passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at the DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville.
She was born June 26, 1936, in Buffalo Valley to the late Myrtle Jones and Harp Pedigo.
Ms. Pedigo worked at the Rose Garden Restaurant in Silver Point for 22 years as the evening cook. She attended Silver Point Baptist Church.
Her family includes three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale and Brenda Pedigo, Charles Pedigo and Mark and Kim Pedigo; grandchildren; Shane (Valorie) Turner, Shaun (Bari) Turner, Seth (Candice) Pedigo, Ciera Pedigo, and Jessica (Michael) Crouch; great-grandchildren; Jordan and Cadin Turner, Isabella Turner, Summer, Maddie, and Liam Pedigo, Colten Brown, and Eli and Addison Crouch; two nieces, Ruth Gibson and Judy Staggs; a nephew, Sammy Coker; a special first cousin who was more like a brother, Johnny Love; and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Pedigo was preceded in death by a sister, Blaine Tramel Coker and great-grandson, Reese Turner.
Bro. Herb Leftwich will officiate the services.
The Pedigo family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to assist with the funeral expenses.
