Marie G. Fechter of Frankenmuth, Michigan, went to her Heavenly home Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her home; age 83 years. Marie Rupprecht was born on March 22, 1930 in Frankenmuth, MI to the late Ludwig G. and Agnes C. (Herzog) Rupprecht. She was married to Thomas B. Fechter on June 29, 1957; he predeceased her on May 30, 2008. Marie was a lifetime member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1948 and was employed by Bavarian Inn in various capacities until 2011.
Marie is survived and deeply missed by; her niece Darlene (Charles R.) Lindow and their children, Ronald A. Lindow and Lori A. Lindow; nephews, Paul R. (Marcia) Rau and their children Melissa M. Rau, Dr. Jennifer M. Rau; and Colonel Carl R. (Kathy) Rau and their children Janell (Anthony) Plana, Stuart, AJ and William, and Andrew (Shannon) Rau. She will also be missed by her Fechter relatives, many Godchildren, and a host of dear friends.
Besides her husband Tom, and parents Ludwig and Agnes, Marie was predeceased by an infant brother, Ludwig Jr., her sisters, Laura Faerber and Anita Rau, and her brother Albert Rupprecht.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark D. Brandt will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery. Marie's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
