Mrs Bessie E Babcock, 73, died at noon Tuesday at Crosby where she had resided for the past eight years. Born April 3, 1891 at New Albany, daughter of the late William and Mary Babcock English. She was married to Willaim M Babcock, who died Dec 20, 1960. Survivors are; a son, Willard J Smethport; a stepson, Newton, Niagara Fall, NY, a daughter, Mrs Francis Seager, Chemung, NY; two step-daughters, Mrs Walter Benson, Bradford and Mrs Gilbert Morris, Avoca, NY; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, John English, Roulette; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be conducted at the Fry Funeral Home in Smethport, Friday at 2 pm by the Rev H W Reveridge, pastor of the Smethport Methodist church. Interment will be in Norwich Cemetery, at Colegrove.
