Dorothy J. Shoop Watson, 95, of Round Grove and Wolcott, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center of Delphi.
She was born April 4, 1918 in Cloverport, Kentucky to the late Edward and Mayme (Merritt) Burke. She graduated from Shawnee High School in Louisville, KY, and went on to receive a B.S. in teaching from Central Normal College in Danville, IN.
Her marriage was to Wayne Shoop on March 2, 1940 in Lafayette. They farmed in Round Grove for many years. Dorothy taught school for 20 years in Round Grove and Wolcott. Wayne passed away in 1966.
She later married William H. Watson in 1970 and the couple resided in Corydon, Indiana until his death in 1999. Mrs. Watson retuned to the area moving to Battle Ground to be near her son.
Surviving is her son, Todd Shoop (wife: Beth) of Battle Ground and her grandchildren, Clay Shoop (wife: Stacy) and Tiffany Little (husband: Teag) both of Delphi.
Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandson, Brady Little.
Preceding her in death with her parents and husband's are 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Interment to follow in West Point Cemetery, Seafield.
