She was born in Martinsburg, daughter of the late Harry C. and Minnie Belle (Replogle) Greenleaf. She married William D. Ake on Feb. 23, 1941, in Martinsburg, and he passed away Feb. 14, 2010..
Surviving are a daughter, Constance Rishell (William) of New Windsor, Conn.; a son, William G. (Margaret) of Mill Hall; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Dean of Martinsburg..
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; three brothers: Lester, Orville and Martin; and a sister, Dorothy Gill..
Betty was a graduate of Martinsburg High School. She retired as a secretary from the Lock Haven School District. She was a member of Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg..
Betty will be remembered for her kindness and love for her family. She enjoyed skiing, square dancing, golfing and traveling with her husband, Bill, in their motor home, which included tailgating and attending Penn State football games. She was also an avid bridge player..
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Pastor Joel F. Nogle officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg..
