One family tree states that Celestia and Luther Stanton were buried in the Patrick Family Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia, while another family tree on the internet states that they and also her parents, James Thomas & Mable Armencia (ELLIOTT) PATRICK, are buried in Patrick Cemetery "off Sewell Road," which appears to be Sewell Road that heads northeast out of Mansfield to Interstate 20 in Newton County.
In "Newton County, Georgia, Cemeteries," Volume I, compiled by Sara Anderson Dixon (Mrs. Dennis B.) and Mary Jane Dixon (self-published: Covington, GA, 1968), pp. 18-19, lists the cemetery as "Patrick Cemetery, Brick Store." The burials recorded there in this book correspond to the memorials in the cemetery posted as "Gibson Family Cemetery" on FindAGrave, and several FindAGrave volunteers are using Gibson Cemetery on Patrick Road as an alternate name for the Patrick Family Cemetery. However, they are not the same cemetery.
Patrick Cemetery is much smaller than Gibson Cemetery. Ward Sandahl says: The plots are hard to find, but can be found on the Elliott farm. The location according to GPS would be 2022 Sewell Rd Mansfield, Ga. 30055. The coordinates are:
Lat 33.55689
Long -83.46850
Luther and Celestia appear on the 1900 census of Newborn in Newton County, and Luther is still there in 1920.
Their son Rudolph Stanton was buried at the Patrick Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. It appears there are CENOTAPH markers for his parents beside his marker.
