James W. Burns [sic], 61, of 207 S. 12th St. died at 6 a.m. Monday at St. John's Hospital.

Mr. Burns was a member of Pleasant Brove Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Marianna; six sons, Sammie Lee Holmes, of Paso Robles, Calif.; Sylvester Burns, James W. Burns, Melvin Burns, Odell Burns and Golden Burns, all of Springfield; six daughters, Mrs. Pearl Childers, Mrs. Louise Dixon, Mrs. LaVerne Hayes, Mrs. Deloris Gerden, Miss Marianna Burns, and Miss Ovella Burns, all of Springfield.

Services were at the Pleasan Grove Baptist Church.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
