Quincy was born on the family farm in rural Smithton, Missouri. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, August and Lillie Bultemeier, after the death of his parents when he was seven. Quincy attended Ringen Elementary School, where he taught after graduating in 1946 from Smithton High School. Quincy served in the U.S. Marines for two years during the Korean War. After working for Beatrice Foods in Sedalia, Missouri for 30 years, Quincy then worked as area manager for Prairie Farms until retirement.

Quincy loved his family, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, auctions, flea markets and collecting and was an avid Mizzou sports fan.

Quincy passed away at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri.
