GOLDTHWAITE — A memorial mass for Leonard W. Bindel, 81, of Goldthwaite, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Goldthwaite with Father Ramiro Tarazona and Richard Menchaca officiating. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 16 at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
He passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton.
Leonard was born March 13, 1932 in Muenster, to Frank Bindel and Marie Flietman Bindel. He married Sylvia Boerner on Feb. 9, 1954 in Pilot Point. They moved to Goldthwaite in 1981. He worked as a licensed master plumber and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Bindel of Goldthwaite; daughter, Gloria Bell and husband Sam of Goldthwaite; son, James Bindel and wife Angela of Brownwood; four grandchildren, DeAnn O'Brien and husband Scott of Sargent, Garrett Bell of Fort Worth, Brook Bindel of Weatherford and Brittnie Behler and husband Brent of May; two great-grandchildren, Keelin O'Brien and Branson Behler; two sisters, a brother and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Bindel; one sister; and three brothers.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Goldthwaite; Mills County Museum in Goldthwaite; and Legacy Plaza in Goldthwaite.
