From "The Free Press and Sentinel", Saturday, January 29, 1910:
James Slaght died at his residence on Cayuga street, this village after a protracted illness of heart trouble, last Sunday morning [January 23], aged 65 years. Mr. Slaght has been a resident of this village for many years, having been employed by Wm. Hazard as blacksmith most of this time. He is survived by a widow, four sons and five daughters. Interment in Grove Cemetery."
