Otto J. Bassman, 56, native of Jefferson City, and son of G.C. Bassman, 802 Jefferson, died about 6 o'clock Thursday night at the Fort Miley Hospital in San Fransico, Calif. He had been ill about a month.

Born here July 14, 1891, Mr. Bassman moved to California in 1913 and has resided at Marysville since then. He was in business for many years, but retired several years ago. He was married there in 1916 to Miss Inez Glover, of Oroville, who, with two children survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, George O. and a daughter, Mrs. Bernadine Huff; two grandchildren; his father, two brothers, George and Oscar Bassman, and four sisters, Mrs. J.E. Fricke, Mrs. J.F. Nash, Mrs. Agnes Jones, and Miss Sophie Jones, all of Jefferson City. He had visited the relatives here about two years ago.

One sister, Miss Bassman, was at his bedside when he died, having left here Monday for California. Funeral services will be in Marysville.
