A S Cline, one of the oldest citizens of the 5th District of Knox County, died at his home near Preston, aged 82 years and 18 days. He leaves four children all of whom are living. They are W P of Knoxville, J H, Mrs S A Ledgerwood, and Mrs Elizabeth Johnson of Preston.
Mr Cline has lived for sixty years at the place where he died. He has twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He has been a farmer all his life and is loved and respected by all who knew him.
The funeral services were held Monday morning at eleven o'clock from the family homestead with interment in the family burying ground. Mr Cline cast his first vote for the old Whig Party sixty years ago.
