Robert (Pinaco) Vasquez Abeita 1943-2013 beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed away in his sleep March 17, 2013.

Robert was born April 14, 1943, in Austin, Texas, to Pedro and Alejandra Abeita (deceased).

Robert is survived by his wife Irene; son Robert Rene; grandchildren Joshua Abeita, Tre Abeita (Kimberly Lasprilla) and Michelle Abeita; four great-grandsons Jayden, Jaysen and Jayxen Abeita and Tre Abeita Jr.

Siblings Orfalinda Limon,Lillian Lozano, Audelia Abeita, Olivia Garcia, Gilbert Abeita and Anthony Acosta.

Preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Renee Abeita; siblings Rudy and Daniel Abeita, Mary Louise Alvarez and Lucia Gaona.

Robert was a sports fan who loved the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.

He played fast-pitch softball for many years with his beloved Austin Jokers.

He coached all sports for many years impacting the lives of many young men.

He founded the St. Elmo Community Sports Program giving many young boys and girls the opportunity to play organized sports. He was recognized by the City of Austin for his commitment to the young people of Austin.

Since the cost of outfitting his teams with shirts was so high, he learned the screen printing trade and from a hobby became a business known as AC Silkscreen.

Formal Visitation for Mr. Abeita will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, with a Funeral Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street (South). This will conclude services for Mr. Abeita.
