Vivian B. Christy, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 6th, 2013. She was born in Wellston, Oklahoma on Thursday, January 22, 1920, and graduated from Wellston High School. She lived most of her adult life in Eufaula, Checotah and Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was married to Alfred Christy in 1940, and had one son, Mark Christy, born in 1954. Vivian spent the early years of her married life working as a bank teller and legal secretary. She also spent many years taking care of her precious son Mark. She was active in the First United Methodist Church in Checotah, and dedicated many years of service to the local Methodist Mission at that church. Vivian was also active in the P.E.O organization, serving as Chaplain, as well as providing assistance and support to the Options Workshop in Checotah. Vivian's hobbies included needlepoint, and she created many beautiful pieces which will be cherished by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Neva Cunningham, her husband Alfred, her son Mark, and her sister, Doris Cunningham Petty.
